Propose a scientific meeting

Send an idea for a seminar, workshop or research discussion. Start with the scientific question and the people who would benefit from exploring it together.

Describe the discussion

Explain the need for the meeting, the intended audience and the questions it would address. Include a programme outline and say whether you envisage presentations, methods teaching, a discussion or a combination of formats.

Name the proposed scientific and organisational leads. Describe how speakers and material would be selected, and identify relevant interests or funding relationships.

Outline the practical needs

Give proposed dates, a location or online format, and an estimate of the resources needed. Include expected costs and proposed support, with any conditions attached. If you have an existing venue or partner in mind, make its role clear.

Sending a proposal begins a discussion. Any use of the ENS name, logo or role as organiser needs an explicit agreement before the meeting is announced.
