Complaints and corrections

Tell us what needs attention and the outcome you are seeking. Use the route that best fits the issue so your message contains the right context.

Scientific corrections

Provide the page address, the passage concerned and the evidence for a correction. Link to the original publication where possible. Explain whether the issue concerns a factual error, attribution, an outdated source or interpretation.

Complaints and conduct concerns

Describe what happened, when it occurred, who or what was involved and any earlier correspondence. Include an existing reference if you have one. Share information about other people only where it is needed to explain the concern.

Say what would help resolve the matter. If the concern involves the person who handled an earlier enquiry, make that clear and ask for the handling of the matter to be reconsidered.

Website and access problems

For a broken link or technical problem, send the page address and what you were trying to do. Accessibility requests have their own contact subject.

The form displays a reference when your message is received. Keep it for follow-up. Information supplied in an enquiry is handled under our privacy notice.
