Privacy notice

The European Nutrition Society (ENS) is responsible for personal information collected through this website. You can contact us using the privacy enquiry form or by post at c/o Jasmin Steffen, Utenberg 2, 6006 Luzern, Switzerland.

Information we collect and why

Contact and media forms collect the details you provide, such as your name, email address, subject, message and any enquiry reference. Media requests can also include a publication, telephone number, intended audience and deadline. Education and event proposals ask for information about the proposed work.

We use this information to receive, assess and handle your enquiry and related correspondence. Required fields are marked in the form. Please provide only what is needed for the matter and avoid sending personal health records or financial access information.

The service stores a submission time and reference. Security controls also use technical request information, including an encoded IP-derived identifier for limiting repeated submissions. Hosting services process connection information needed to deliver and protect the website.

Hosting, storage and external services

Cloudflare provides website hosting and enquiry storage. The enquiry database is configured in Cloudflare's EU jurisdiction. Cloudflare operates an international network; this database setting does not mean that every aspect of traffic processing occurs only in the EU. Further information about its processing and safeguards is available in Cloudflare's privacy policy and data processing terms.

Enquiries are available to those handling the matter for ENS. They are not automatically published as profiles or contributions. The public website does not provide personal accounts, collect payment-card details or subscribe visitors to mailing lists.

External links open services operated by other organisations. Their privacy information applies when you use those services.

Keeping and correcting information

Enquiry information is retained for handling the matter, relevant follow-up and any applicable legal obligations. The appropriate period depends on whether the matter remains active and whether the information is needed to document its outcome. You can ask about the information held in relation to your enquiry and request access, correction or deletion.

Include an enquiry reference if available. We may need enough additional information to verify your identity before disclosing or changing personal information; do not attach identity documents to an initial general message.

Questions and rights

Send a privacy enquiry. You can also write to the registered address above. The Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner provides information about data-protection rights and concerns.
