When to use it
Use the Finder when you need to locate a nutrient value for a population group. Use the overview and linked opinion when you need to understand the terminology or evidence behind the figure.
For a teaching or research note, keep the nutrient, type of value, population, unit and source together. This makes the information easier to check later.
Before you apply a value
Our guide to dietary reference values explains the main abbreviations and includes a reading example. For the methodology, follow EFSA's scientific opinion on deriving and applying reference values.
